Charles P. Leach Agency, Inc. was formed in 1967 as the evolution of the Charles P. Leach Insurance Agency, which was a sole proprietorship owned and operated by Charles P. Leach, Sr.
Charles Leach, Sr. (affectionately known as Charlie to all his friends) started the agency in 1932 after he acquired his life insurance license. He soon expanded the business to include a full line of insurance products, including commercial lines, group insurance, pension, estate planning, and more. He built his reputation on honesty, fairness, and, above all, being available to his clients when they needed him.
His brand of service went far beyond simply selling insurance to clients. He was always available to help them with their businesses and, for many, even their personal lives. Charlie didn’t care if this was good for generating business, he simply cared about doing the right thing.
He was also active in community and civic affairs locally and at the state level. This is a living tradition, as we continue to encourage staff involvement in our communities.
In 1966, our current CEO, Charles P. Leach, Jr., (he prefers to be called Chuck) joined the agency and started a completely new career for himself. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, Chuck worked at General Motors before joining the agency. Together, Charlie and Chuck together formed the Charles P. Leach Agency, Inc.
Charlie once said, “The key to a successful insurance agency is stability — and you build stability with loyal, capable employees who stay with you for many years and are devoted to customer service.”
We try to live up to this every day. In fact, several employees have worked for us for more than 35 years, and several more have been with us for more than 25 years.
This experience gives Charles Leach added value not found in most other agencies today.
In 1988, Lisa Leach Goth, granddaughter to Charlie and daughter to Chuck, joined the agency to continue the long family tradition of service in the insurance industry. Lisa graduated from Clarion University with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer information and application science. She spent two years working as a marketing and sales representative for another insurance company, where she managed 40 agencies across Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Our motto is “Protecting You Like Family.” For us, this goes way beyond some marketing slogan, for we believe this captures the essence of our agency and continues the legacy of our founder. We truly do feel close to our clients, and we seek to guard and protect them like family through our offerings.
We leverage the four segments of our business to serve our clients by creating comprehensive protection plans for all of their needs. The four segments of our business are: commercial lines, personal lines, health lines, and life services. We use these interdependent and complementary services to design complete asset protection plans.
